5 Yoga Routines For Your Body
By Jesse Miller

Yoga is another routine that you can adopt to keep yourself healthy and fit. With yoga routine you will not only ensure health and fitness but you will feel refreshed as well. It is common for most of us to put on weight by staying inactive or to put it simply leading a less active life. It is for this reason that exercises are there so that one can stay fit and healthy and lead an active life.

Although, most of us hate to exercise not only because we don’t have much time but it leaves it sweaty and tired. If you feel this way then the best alternative is to include yoga routine in your daily life. Yoga routine will make you feel fresh and your mind at peace. You can perform a yoga routine of 15-minutes long and feel the difference.

Given below are some yoga routines that will also help you increase flexibility.

1. Janushirsasana: Start by sitting on floor with the legs in front of you and straight. Now bend your left leg such that foot’s sole rests on inside thigh of the right leg. When done, bend forward with your arms raised and hold the right foot toe with both the hands. Bring your face as closer to it as you can and hold the position for a minute before returning to original position. Perform same for the other leg.

2. Shalabhasana: Start by lying flat on belly on the floor. Make sure that your arms are at the side. By balancing on the lower belly part, lift your arms, heads, legs and torso off the floor. Hold this position for one minute before gently returning to original position.

3. Dhanurasana: For this you have to lie flat on floor on belly. Now bend the knees and using your hands reach to reach back, get hold of the ankles. Now pull the legs up with the hands holding the ankles and lift the torso and head up. Stay in this position for one minute before gently returning to original position.

4. Halasana: For this lie on the floor on your back. Now try touching the tip of the floor that is above the head by lifting hips and legs and swinging them over to do so. Hold this position for one minute.

5. Shavasana: Lie on the floor on your back and close your eyes. Let your body feel weightless at the same time breathe slowly and deeply. Relax yourself by staying inthis position for one minute.

Finding the perfect Workout Routines takes time and effort.
The Differences Between Cotton Yoga Mats and Other Contemporary Yoga Mats
By Christopher Schwebius

Yoga has been practised all around the world for thousands of years. Its regular practice rewards us with greater health and vitality and a perfect balance between mind, body and spirit. It brings true happiness, and makes you feel better from within. The breathing exercise and meditation helps you tune in, shape up and feel great all at the same time.

Yoga is a cure to many ailments but it needs to be performed with care to avoid injuring oneself. Many times accidents occur while doing yoga exercises. Yoga mats should be used to avoid such circumstances as they provide cushioning and traction. These days’ markets are flooded with a variety of yoga mats. You find them in different colours, shapes and sizes. They are available in different materials also.

Some of the commonly available yoga mats are:

• Cotton yoga mats - these are mats made of cotton. They are thick, and soft and give excellent support to your body while doing yoga. They are completely natural and have beautiful colour and texture.

• Eco friendly mats - These eco friendly yoga mats are made of PER i.e. Polymer Environmental Raisin. They are non-toxic, latex free, ecological and healthy. They are available in a wide range of colours.

• Tapas mats -these are stable and provide a non-slip surface. They give insulation from the cool floors.

• Rubber mats - these mats are made of natural rubber and are thin and easily movable. They provide good cushioning and resilience.

• Jute mats - these are latex free mats made of jute. They are made by meshing jute fibre with PER plastic.

• PVC mats - as the name suggests they are made of Poly Vinyl Chloride. They have a non-slip surface and are easy to maintain.

• Woven fabric mat - these are mats made of woven fabric which is thickly textured.

• Yoga towel mats - they are made of soft towel material, are easily washable and soak your sweat when you are doing yoga exercises.

Among all the mats available in the market, cotton mats are the most popular ones. Before buying yoga mats we should keep few things in mind. Are the mats serving the purpose for which they are bought? Are they easy to maintain? What is the life span of these mats? etc. Cotton mats have many advantages over the others. They are extra soft and thick. They provide a perfect non-slip surface, which helps in doing yoga without the fear of getting hurt. These provide a nice padding around the knees and ankles for the yoga exercises. These are durable, portable, easy to maintain, washable and very light in weight. They can be folded or rolled and stored conveniently in any corner of your house. Beautiful mat bags are also available to carry them to where ever you go. They are comparatively inexpensive, so easy on your pocket. These are available in different shapes and sizes and in a wide range of bright colours and pastel shades. It soaks sweat so your grip remains same on the mat so it keeps you from slipping even when you perspire. They are non-toxic and eco friendly. What more you can even enjoy a nap on it!!

To practise yoga in a safe and convenient way one should think of all the advantages and disadvantages of different types of mats available and then buy what is most suitable. With the long list of advantages, the cotton mats definitely have an edge above the others.

Walking is a very healthy exercise. It is also an exercise that is followed by millions around the world. It is the world simplest exercises. There are almost no special requirements except the foot ware required for walking. Walking can be done around anywhere.

It can be your neighborhood the playground etc. There are no special or specific patterns that you can impose on walking. However there are many ways that you can make this exercise more beneficial to your body and more fun to work out. The following are some the ways by which you can get the most benefit out of walking:

1. Decide your course of path that you will be taking.

2. The most ideal place to take a walk will be a spot where there is minimum pollution like a park etc.

3. Take a towel and carry a water flask with you. This will take care of you in case you get sweaty or thirsty.

4. Take along your favorite music in your mp3 player or your ipod so that you can listen to them while you take a walk.

5. Decide how long you are going to walk or for how much time you are going to walk for.

6. Make sure that you have some money in your pocket so that you can catch a cab and come back home if you are too tired.

7. There are many exercises that you can combine with walking. This will help make walking a total body workout.

8. You can try stretching while walking to help loosen up your upper body.

9. Frequently beak into sprints or runs. This will help to work out your thighs and hamstrings.

10. Walk consistently when you are walking without loosing your pace.

11. March your hands left and right while you are walking or keep your hands to your sides. Don’t move your hands around haphazardly while you are walking. This may be interference to other people on the road.

12. Walk on different landscapes to add the extra resistance to your walk.

13. This can mean walking up or down a mountain slope or walking on uneven surfaces.

14. Also a very important aspect for walking is to choose the right kind of shoes.

15. Not having proper shoes can affect your feet and especially the soles of your feet.

16. Make sure that you have the right size of shoes on and also make sure that your shoelaces are firmly tied.
